Two detectives and best friends, Rick and Truitt, frequent a bar where the meet pretty waitress Jessie Callahan. Both men want her, so instead of fighting over her and potentially ruining their friendship they decide to go after her together. Finally convincing her to join them in a ménage a trios Rick and Truitt bring Jessie home for a night to remember, only afterwards they want more than just one night. But when they find out the next morning that Jessie is a prime murder suspect can they believe that she is innocent, or did she just use them as an alibi? Soul Possession was hot hot hot, but the relationship aspect of the story was a bit unbelievable to me. These two alpha men want Jessie for themselves, are each possessive of her, but decide that they can share her with each other. The sharing just didn’t jive with their characters and I didn’t see how a happy future was possible for the three of them together. The suspense was interesting, with a few twists thrown in, but due to the novella length maybe, I didn’t feel that it reached its full potential. At least, what I’ve come to expect from Maya Banks. Overall though, Rick and Truit were sexy as all get out and it was still a good little read that had me fired up for the rest of the anthology. Wanted by Karin Tabke Bad-boy cop and ladies man, Colin Daniels, is sent to guard a high profile criminal’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Sophia Gilletti, and bring her out of hiding and to New York to testify against him. He has 24 hours to deliver her to his superiors before he’s a wanted man himself. When Colin comes face-to-face with Sophia though, after rescuing her from a hit man, she seems a little too familiar. Can this be the same girl that disappeared with his heart over a decade ago? Danger follows the pair on their journey but it doesn’t stop the desire that still burns strong between them. This was my first taste of Karin Tabke’s work, though I have read her series under Karin Harlow, and wow - am I craving some more now! Despite being only a little over 100 pages, Wanted was bursting with romance, action and suspense. I really enjoyed this pair reuniting and getting to delve into each of their characters. Both have some tragedy and insecurities to deal with but they bring the best out in each other, not to mention their sizzling attraction and how Colin is smokin' hot! *fans self* A great read! Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day This was my favorite story out of the anthology! Layla Creed has been in witness protection, given a whole new life and identify for the murders she witnessed, but it is time to come out of hiding and take the stand against the man who killed her friend and protector. Federal Marshal Brian Simmons fills in for the assignment and walks into a disaster when he goes to pick Layla up. The man Layla is set to testify against does not want her making it to California and will do anything to stop her but Brian will put his life on the line before he lets anything happen to the woman he loved and let walk away five years ago. I absolutely loved this story of second chances! Taking the Heat was filled with danger, excitement and raw passion. The chemistry between Layla and Brian was intense, bursting through the pages, and the sex scenes out of this world. The reconnecting of this pair tugged on my heart strings as they worked out their misunderstandings and insecurities over their past relationship, hoping to build a solid foundation for a new one within three days. With a full and vivid plot, relatable and sex-ay characters and a humorous and naughty dialogue - this was one story that I did not want to end! A super sexy anthology by three awesome, must-read authors about strong, feisty women determined to get those spectacularly sexy men out of their uniforms and into their beds for good!

Soul Possession by Maya Banks - This story seriously disappointed me. I didn't like the threesome aspect of the story. Truitt and Rick have been frequenting a bar where Jessie is a waitress for a few weeks. After a couple of weeks of seeing her at work and minimal conversation, they both want her and after one night with her, they both develop feelings for Jessie. I know that this is a novella and that the plot has to progress quickly, but I did not find it believable. And then to throw into the Soul Possession by Maya Banks - This story seriously disappointed me. I didn't like the threesome aspect of the story. After a couple of weeks of seeing her at work and minimal conversation, they both want her and after one night with her, they both develop feelings for Jessie. I know that this is a novella and that the plot has to progress quickly, but I did not find it believable. And then to throw into the pot Jessie being accused of murder and then being threatened by a serial killer, I felt it was too much for only 140 pages. For me, there was really no suspense in this story. When the killer was revealed, it was anti-climatic and I didn't really care. Rating: D- Wanted by Karin Tabke - I really liked this one. I loved the history between Colin and Sophia. Colin is a very sexy hero and is not the whoring douche that people thinks he is. There's more to him that meets the eye and you see a different side of him when he's around Sophia. The story was very sexy and hot and the plot was great and full of action. I didn't feel like anything was missing. This story could have easily been a full-length novel because there was so much going on. Rating: B+ Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day - My favorite story. I loved Brian and Layla's chemistry. It was off the charts. Brian is a dirty talker and is commanding in bed. He's not afraid of expressing what he wants. This novella had some of the best lines that made me giggle and the best sex scenes that made me grab a towel to sit on. Brian and Layla never stopped loving each other and both want to use the 3 day trip to clear out any misunderstandings. At times Layla comes off as immature but she is 6 years younger than Brian so she doesn't have the life experience that Brian has. I liked that she didn't wallow in her self-pity and they both owned up to their mistakes. I absolutely loved their story and I didn't want it to end. Rating: A Overall: B

I really wish I could give this antho a better rating, but I just can't. All three stories were predictable, and two were very similar. Out of the three, Sylvia Day's was the best, IMO. I've never read Ms. Day's work before, though I've wanted to, and I will definitely try another of her books. I'm sure this antho will sell well, but as a fan of Maya Banks, particularly, I was disappointed. Just my opinion - others will probably love the stories.

As a whole this book was great. The best story by far was Banks. It was well written and felt like a complete story. I loved the story and how Rick and Truitt won the heart and body of Jessie. I have to admit that I don't care for Karin Tabke's writing. I've tried more then once to read books by her but can't get into them. Day's story was enjoyable too. I liked the characters and how there story panned out.

Review coming but preview. Maya Banks - I actually liked this story. It seemed to me the best intertwined with the romance and the suspense. Karin Tabke - Nice story but there was this big build up for this confrontation and when it happened it was like 'is that it' Sylvia Day - Nice story but where is the suspense. Wasn't any.

Men Out of Uniform has three stories by Maya Banks, Sylvia Day and Karin Tabke. This is a must read book. It was very good. I love Maya Banks & Sylvia Day books. This is the first one of Karin Tabke I had ever read and was impressed. If you like hot guys in uniform you will love this book. It's full of sex and suspense.

STEAMY....beware. Maya Banks begins- It seemed very textbook erotic, not like her other reads; give the novella 2*. Karin Tabke’s Wanted-silly. But still hot. 3* Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day-Wicked and fun. Then Let me say it’s the first Sylvia Day I actually liked. You have to love happy endings.

Great hot summer evening read! Not always a fan of short stories, but sometimes they are fun when it's a busy time and I don't want to wade through a lot of back story. I didn't really have a favorite...they were all good. Break them out when your attention span is short;)

Rick and Truitt have been partners in the police force for a long time. They are currently deeply involved in a serial killer case. Someone has been kidnapping women, only to let them go and then hunt them in the woods. Needing to let some stress out, they have decided tonight is the night they are going to take home the bartender Jessie Callahan…together. They have flirted with her for a few weeks, and she has always batted away their advances, but tonight they want action. Jessie is having a rough night. Being wrongly accused of stealing money from the cash register and being fired, she is feeling a little crazy..and decides tonight is the night she will act on her attraction to Rick and Truitt. From here, the story unfolds with sexy times between Jessie, Rick and Truitt, and the hunt for the serial killer. This kind of felt like the standard m/f/m erotic story. Especially when we start with this description: **** She wasn’t a virgin, but she was woefully behind in the sex education department, and somehow she knew they were so far out of her league that she hadn’t a prayer of satisfying either. They were bad boys and she was a wholesome, sweet good girl, and if that wasn’t enough to disgust her, she didn’t know what was. **** Rick and Truitt want to take care of her, and want to protect and hover over her. And of course, Rick and Truitt usually date separate women, but now they are both attracted to the same woman and refuse to give her up. So they enter into this very erotic threesome. The sex was okay but again it felt like I’ve read this same story before. After one or two nights together they all just feel like they are in love and ready for this very non-traditional romance. There is a nice balance between the suspense and sex in this one and I enjoyed reading the epilogue which takes place 6 months into the future. But the sex and instant love we get didn’t really do it for me. Rating: C- Wanted by Karin Tabke Favorite Quote: Colin raced down the stairs to get dressed. The captain called after him. “Did you put a GPS in her with your dick? Otherwise, only pure luck will help you find her.” Undercover cop Colin Daniel loves sex and women. Working for FIST, or the Federal Investigative Strike Team, he works on a task force that goes after the crime families in the big cities. Because of his job, he doesn’t do commitment – but that is fine by him. His current assignment is to fly out to California and find Sophia Gilletti. She has run from her mafia husband after suffering extensive abuse. FIST wants her brought in to testify against him, and in return will give her protective custody. But first they need to find her and bring her back to New York. Colin must go in very quietly as to not alert the other mafia members that are also hunting her. Her soon to be ex husband is a very dangerous man and will do everything to get Sophia back in his grip. I really enjoyed this story. Colin is so cocky in his job – and okay, he is totally cocky when it comes to women too – but it really works well in this story. He also comes across as humorous and warm. He actually went to high school with Sophia, and they spent a passionate night together where Sophia lost her virginity. But then he moved onto his career, and Sophia was basically sold into the mob, and they lost touch. They both think the other one doesn’t remember who they are for a lot of the story . But that burning passion is still between them. Sophia is a tough cookie – and is a nice match for Colin. This story is a little lighter on the sex scenes, but works because Colin probably shouldn’t be sleeping with the woman assigned to him on a case. Plus she has gone through so much with her husband, that she isn’t in the best place. Even though this is a short story, their romance develops nicely. My favorite part are the fun car chases, and crazy gun battles. Plus there is humor. When I read the very last page at first I wanted to roll my eyes, but then I just started laughing. There is a corny moment, but is cute and works in the story. This is the first I’ve read of Karin Tabke but I’ll be looking for more from her. Rating: B Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day Favorite Quote: “Ignore that,” he said. Instead, she rolled her hips, stroking herself with the hard length of his cock. With her lips to his skin, she whispered, “It’s too big to ignore.” US Marshall Brian Simmons was in love with his best friend’s sister. But his job is demanding and he craves the adrenaline that comes with it, so their relationship didn’t last. Now five years later, he is fighting for her life. Layla Creed got accidentally involved with the Mexican cartel, and ended up in the Witness Protection Program. Now her cover is blown, and her life is in danger. Brian needs to get her to San Diego, but he doesn’t trust anyone. So he goes rogue, risking his career, but having a second chance with Layla. This story has a little less suspense in it, and it is more heavily focused on the sex. But I think the sex scenes in this one are my favorite. Brian and Layla have had a past relationship, so falling back in love is easy for them to do. They think they only have three days together, until Layla will be placed back into the Witness Protection Program, so their romance is intense and heavy. They are on the run throughout the book, but the bad guys don’t come into play as much as the previous two stories. But that was okay with me because I really liked these two in bed. Or in the shower. Or up against the wall. The ending felt rushed – I’m not sure why they always have to end with a marriage proposal rather than just in love, but otherwise this is a very hot read. Rating: B Overall, while disappointed in the first story, the last two are quite strong. This is a fun book to just escape in for awhile with some crazy suspense scenes and steamy hot romance. Overall Rating: C+

Maya Banks's Soul Possession: Jessie Callahan, Rick Broughman, Truitt Cavanaugh--these two detectives manage to convince a lovely waitress to give them a chance. I never read any of these authors and maya banks had an ok story. But the other two were lacking in surprises and I guess the “villain” in last story before I got to the end. The second story was just fake. It made me think of the people who get married in a moment then hate the rest of the their lives because the sex wasn’t love. Surprise surprise. I put my speed reading to good use though -haha-

Although, the novellas featured in this anthology were good and entertaining, I just cannot give it more than 3 stars. I think the stories were hampered due to the fact that they were short novellas. In my opinion they could have been better if they were longer especially Taking the Heat by Maya Banks.

pretty good. the only reason I don't give it really good is b/c I got tired of the damsel-in-danger, chronically mind-blowing sex things. Accidentally left it on the table where my teenage son does homework. At least he'll learn something about consensual sex between consenting adults and condom use.

I have to be honest and say, out of the 3 stories, Soul Possession was my least favourite. Poor Jessie had a rough night. Fired from her waitress job after being accused of stealing, her bum knee acts up, she is whisked away from the bar by two gorgeous cops for a threesome and the next day is brought into the station under the suspicion of murdering her former boss. Now that's a heavy duty 24 hrs! The two hot detectives Rick and Truitt have been drooling over Jessie for a long time. They have flirted mercilessly with her and both have fantasied about her. But since they both want her, they are interested in a threesome. As much as I love reading menage, this group seemed a bit off. I think it would have been more plausible if Rick and Truitt were bi-sexual rather than two very alpha type males willingly and openly share Jessie. I understand that the story is an anthology so it needs to be quick but I just didn't fall for the quick love and openness of the relationship. Even the intimate scenes seemed way too fast for me. I've read outstanding menage by Maya Banks before so I know how spectacular her scenes can be. Wanted by Karin Tabke 3.5 stars M/F I have a Karin Tabke book on my shelf somewhere and now after reading Men Out of Uniform, and Wanted, I need to go dig it up and read it. Excellent writing. The first chapter starts off with a F/F/M threesome with Colin but that is only to set the reader up with the type of cocky bugger that Colin is. Couldn't have asked for a better set up. Colin is going deep undercover with no police back up to bring in the ex-wife of a notorious gangster to testify against him. Turns out that Sophia is really Colin's one and only early love from high school, Maria. Prior to her being forced to marry a mob boss, Sophia/Maria gave her virginity and a night of passion to Colin and that memory has held her together through all the years of abuse. Colin and Sophia's first meeting starts off in an adrenaline rush as the mob is out to get Sophia for testifying. Guns shooting, diving in cold water and barely escaping with their lives, Colin and Sophia don't even realize at first who they to each other. I liked them playing dumb and neither admitting who they are from each other's pasts. A lot in the way of appearance have changed over time since high school. Colin is all "I'm going to protect you" and Sophia is all "don't bother I'm going to die". As they are dashing across the country to make it back in time for her to testify, Colin and Sophia become reacquainted and that means some smoking hot sex scenes for the reader. The only thing that I didn't like about this story is I really really, yeah really hate in stories where the heroine decides to do something really stupid and not logical. Sophia does that in this book and when she did, the story fell a rating notch for me. So that is why I am only giving a 3.5 instead of a 4. Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day = 4 stars M/F Taking the Heat would have been so much better as a full story. I liked this couple enough that I wanted a full story. I adore when the protagonists have a past together. They are some of my favourite reads. So when Taking the Heat has Layla and Brian having a past relationship dating back to when she was 16 yrs old and he was 22 yrs old, I sat back ready for a good read. It did not disappoint. Taking the Heat was my favourite of the anthology. Layla and Brian have been separated for years and their reunion is an explosion. Okay I mean literally. The SUV she is about to climb into with the officers assigned to protect her while she is in the witness protection program explodes. Brian (who is a special secret undercover cop) dove on top of her and sheltered her from the flying debris. They both barely escape with their lives and an across country trek leads them from divey motel to motel. I really liked Layla. She has some really great lines and I adore her snark. She has the ability to make the big bad cop Brian squirm and I loved it. There are some excellent steamy scenes as Layla and Brian rekindle their love for each other. There are some heart warming forgiveness conversations for making wrong early decisions in their relationship. It made the love more real and the conversations were genuine. Of all three stories this one tugged at my heart the most and I connected with the Layla and Brian. I really enjoyed their journey. I was sad when I was seeing that Taking the Heat was coming to an end because I wanted more of the pair. I was a tad disappointed with how quickly the story ended. It just seemed to drop off and end.

Soul Possession: 3 stars, super steamy menage with suspense Wanted: 3 stars, Colin was so arrogant, but soooo H-O-T. It ended quite abruptly though. Taking the Heat: 3.5 stars, the story was good and I loved the characters Layla and Brian (he's so swoonworthy!). This one was H-O-T-T-T! I liked all the characters and the plots were decent in all three novellas but I think Brian was my favorite.

Soul Possession by Maya Banks 3 Stars Maya Banks is a favorite author of mine, which is why I'm surprised I didn't connect with this story as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong it was hot, and the plot is ok, but there was no connection for me with the characters. We have Jessie Callahan, a waitress at a bar where two HOT cops have been hanging out for a while now. Rick and Truitt are partners and when they first see Jessie they're both extremely attracted to her. So they decide to share her and they've been trying for a long time now to flirt and get her to go home with both of them. Things come to a head when she gets fired, they have one HOT night together, and then everything goes to hell. Someone turns up dead, there's a serial killer on the loose, and Truitt and Rick decide they want to be in a relationship with her, yes, at the same time. I didn't like the resolution of the serial killer story, it felt a bit rushed and incomplete. The sex is as usual hot, obviously be prepared for menage, and everything it entails. ;) Steamy, and it worked for me! Wanted by Karin Tabke 4.5 Stars This was my favorite story of this anthology. Don't ask me why, but it was extremely hot, sensual, the characters worked well together. I think especially because they had a history together. One thing I didn't necessarily get was how it was so difficult for him to find her all those years ago when he was supposedly in love. So Sophia gives her virginity to Colin, the popular jock, the night of his graduation. She's been in love with him forever. After that her family gets threatened and she has to marry a mobster and pretty much has disappeared since. But she never forgot Colin. Now she's on the run from her husband, who has a price on her head so she won't testify against him. Colin, a detective now, is sent to escort her back to New York so she can testify an din the meantime has to protect her. There's enough action in this book, and both kinds of it. Very steamy... on the floor, in the bathtub, on the bed. Everywhere! Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day 4 Stars Layla Creed is in the witness protection program because she has to testify to bring down a cartel. On a recent trip to Mexico with her friend, they ran into trouble and where in the middle of cartel business. After an attempt on her life she ends up with a most unexpected person protecting her. Brian Simmons. Her brothers best friend and the man she fell in love with at 16. He is also the man she left because she couldn't deal with him putting his life in danger for his career. Brian has never let go of his love for Layla and now wants nothing but keep her with him, but first he will have to keep her safe from some very important people that need her dead. These two have chemistry. They know each others' bodies very well and from the get-go they knew and accepted the fact that while he's protecting her they would be together. I wish I had read some other Shadow Stalkers books as I would've liked some background into other characters we see in this book, but the main one I liked was Rachel, and how she showed Layla how she could be ok with being with Brian, dangerous career and all. Another hot story with a little bit less action during the whole story, but plenty of it under the covers.

I'm not usually a big erotica fan, nor am I a huge fan of contemporary novels, and I think my lack of interest in both has ultimately affected the grading of these three pieces. I like to encourage people to take reviews lightly and to form their own opinions about books, and I really want to reinforce this now. Despite my lack of interest in both categories, I have tried to be objective while reading this collection of novellas--especially since there are both contemporaries and eroticas that I have enjoyed in the past. Soul Possession by Maya Banks Sex: N/A Plot: N/A Interest: N/A Overall Rating: DNF The writing is great, but I am not a fan of reading about threesomes. I tried to give this novella a shot, especially since I am interested in reading something by Maya Banks, but this was ultimately not a piece for me. Wanted by Karin Tabke Sex: 4/5 Plot: 3.5/5 Interest: 4/5 Overall Rating: 4/5 Karin Tabke is a great author, and I am happy to say that despite my lack of interest in eroticas and contemporaries, I still enjoyed WANTED. I believe I enjoyed Karin's piece a bit more than the other novellas because there was more of a focus on character development and plot as opposed to just sex sex sex... which is something I take issue with when reading most eroticas. WANTED starts off with a brief threesome, but I felt that this further developed Colin's character... he is, after all, a ladies man. It worked for him, and it definitely worked in this story. Speaking of Colin, I found his arrogant persona to be strangely endearing. Granted, there were times where I felt his personality was a bit overwhelming--especially for Sophia--but he certainly lives up to his alpha male-ish title. Sophia is tough, but she has a vulnerability about her that made me like her almost instantly. Her past has definitely left her reeling, but I never felt like she was damaged goods. She's witty, and I think that contributes to the humor in this piece-- which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way. Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day Sex: 2/5 Plot: 4/5 Interest: 4.5/5 Overall Rating: 3.5/5 This may be my first time reading Sylvia Day's writing, but it will certainly not be my last. Out of the three novellas, this one captured my interest the fastest and held it the longest. The connection between Brian and Layla was practically oozing off the pages, as was their attraction to one another. There were a few corny parts that had me cringing, and I don't think it was possible for me to roll my eyes any harder due to the overuse of "baby." Not against pet names, but the overuse of it grates on my nerves after a while. I'm not shy when it comes to reading about sex in books, but while the two spoke dirty in the bedroom, I couldn't decide whether or not to laugh or to cringe. It just did not work for me. Other than the talking (which did affect my enjoyment quite a bit), the sex was sizzling, and I would have given this a higher rating for the steaminess factor alone had I not taken the dialogue into consideration. Despite these quirks, I was still enjoying the story, so I suppose that's a plus. The ending was so-so for me.

Each of these stories takes you on a different erotic journey you just might not want to come back from. Soul Possession by Maya Banks Truitt and Rick want Jessie Callahan, they flirt with and proposition her every chance they get but she always turns them down. They are working on a case, to find a man who tortures, turns his victims loose in the woods and then hunts them down. When Jessie gets hurt and gets fired from her job, she figures she has nothing to lose and takes the two men on their offer of being with her at the same time. When the man Truitt and Rick targets Jessie, they will have to find and save her before it’s too late. Soul Possession is a hot murder mystery and erotic journey which has three very powerfully minded characters trying to be together and find common ground. Truitt and Rick are hot together and have always wanted Jessie. Jessie never really believed they wanted her; she thought they only wanted the challenge of her. When Jessie drops her guard, the sheets are set on fire. I loved this romance and the storyline kept me glued to the pages wanting more. Ms. Banks really has created an amazing emotion-packed story in Soul Possession. Wanted by Karin Tabke Colin Daniels, an undercover cop loves enjoying a new woman each night. Sophia is the soon-to-be-ex-wife of a mob boss, who Colin must guard and protect. Who will get to protect her from Colin when he decides he wants her? In Wanted, Colin Daniels is a playboy who has always prided himself on not having any long term relationship. When Sophia comes into his life, he realizes she’s spunky, smart and very much his type. He tries to resist her but love has a way of overcoming all of his objections. This was a sweet, fun and cute romance to read. Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day Deputy U.S. Marshall Brian Simmons almost sees Layla Creed, the sexiest woman he has ever laid eyes on, get killed by a grenade. He’s supposed to be protecting her while transporting her from a safe house. Layla used to have friends and a normal life; now she’s on the run with the one man she’s been trying to forget assigned to protect her. Taking the Heat is a fast-paced, action-packed story. Brian is tough but soft hearted, he does his job very well and has a loyalty that goes deep down to his core. Layla is sweet and a bit innocent, but is by no means a pushover. She too has a big heart and is very loyal. Together these two are really a great couple, and I will have a hard time forgetting them any time soon. Overall, this anthology, Men Out Of Uniform is very well done. Each story has a main theme which blends well with the other stories in the book. Each story has a unique plot line as well, and each author has a really well written, remarkable story. I am going to keep this anthology on my keeper shelf when I want some stories about sexy men protecting the women they love.

Soul Possession by Maya Banks ------------ 4 stars ----- Read 9/5/2015 This novella was a 4-star read overall. I debated on giving it 3 stars because the shorter format made it less enjoyable for me than Maya Banks's longer works. However, it was quite well-written and contained scorching menage sex and quite a bit of suspense, in spite of its shorter length. However, it was quite well-written and contained scorching menage sex and quite a bit of suspense, in spite of its shorter length. The heroes are partnered police detectives working a serial killer case who both fall for the sweet, hardworking heroine. She's vulnerable, yet with a steely inner strength that makes her likable. The heroes mess up big time with her and she holds them accountable, rather than just falling right back into their arms, which I thought made it a stronger story. I believe the title refers to the heroine's soul possession of her two cops rather than the other way around. I liked the way they were crazy about her. Wanted by Karin Tabke ----------- 3.5 stars --------- Read 9/6/2015 A fast-paced romantic suspense with steamy encounters between a cop and the ex-wife of a mob boss. He's protecting her from her ex who has a contract hit out on her. I like this story a lot, especially for a novella. Novellas are usually not as enjoyable for me. I docked the story a half-star for the abrupt ending and because I had unanswered questions about the hero's police job and his boss. At the beginning, his boss requires him to hand over his badge and his gun and it seemed to me that he was being set up in some way. ?? The story ended before he returned to his job and we never find out if his boss was crooked or not. Taking The Heat by Sylvia Day ---------- 4 stars -------- Read 9/7/2015 I believe this story was my favorite of the three. The hero is a member of a special law enforcement team and his lady is in the Witness Protection Program because she witnessed the murder of an agent by a drug cartel. The cartel is after her. Years earlier, these two fell in love but the danger of his job caused them to go separate ways. Both of them regret the parting and have held a candle for the other for six years. Now he is protecting her while they travel incognito to get her to California to testify against the drug cartel. A future for them seems hopeless but it's all they really want. High speed chases, gun battles, and steamy sexy times all throughout, this novella is a winner.

An anthology of three short stories about mildly erotic romance with cops. The Stories Maya Banks' Soul Possession is a warm, sweet threesome. Truitt and Rick, detectives and partners are both attracted to Jessie. Then Jessie is implicated in a murder and the guys quickly freeze up on her. Karin Tabke's Wanted sees Colin Daniels with a different woman or two every night but is liable to be called in as part of a tristate task force. This time he has to leave behind a redhead and a brunette to go undercover as a wanted man to rescue a potential witness, Sophia, with a contract on her head. Put there by her ex-husband, a Mafioso shamed by his wife's desertion, hurt in his pride, and very vulnerable to the information she can pass to the District Attorney. It's cute with a very reluctant witness falling in love with Daniels and desperate to escape him. Sylvia Day's Taking the Heat finds Deputy U.S. Marshall Brian Simmons running from a grenade attack just as the protected witness, Layla Creed, is about to slide into one of the Chevy Suburbans. A Layla whose loss he has mourned since they were very young. One he lost through his insistence on joining the Shadow Squad and her insistence on his leaving the force. Now, they're both on the run with cash and a borrowed Bronco with barely enough days to cross the country from Baltimore to San Diego. The nights are another matter. This was sweet with a strong message to accept realizing how important it is to have ties with family no matter who they are. The Cover I don't know many situations where a black jean-clad cop wearing motorcycle boots and sunglasses would be shirtless while kneeling on the pavement sliding a round into his gun, handcuffs tucked into his belt but I certainly haven't any objections when they're as muscled as this one! The title is very accurate as all three cops are Men Out of Uniform.

Soul Possession - After months of flirting with detectives Rick and Tru, Jessie decides to take them up on their offer of a passionate night. Banks knows how to write a steamy threesome and between Jessie and these two cops it is no different. She can also write a thriller and kick ass action scene in a heart beat. What can I say, the woman is fierce. Wanted - When a mob ex-wife goes into hiding, a recently reinstated bad-boy police officer is sent to retrieve her and give her protection. His assignment is also to convince her to go back and testify against her husband and put him away for good. Their journey back from CA to NY is difficult with lots of hit men on their tracks, and the memories of Colin and Maria's first time together hunting them. She had given him her virginity when all girls threw themselves at him in high-school. She wanted something of hers before her life was taken away. She had been the only girl he ever made love too, but them she vanished from his life. Now that they were back together could things be different for them? We might never know who the snitch is... Maybe Angelo is just that good and has eyes and ears everywhere, but Colin and Maria Sofia sure know how to heat things up! Taking the Heat - Layla left Bryan years ago. She was young and insecure, but above all she couldn't deal with the fear of being told for a third time that a man she loved was gone. Letting Layla walk out of his life was the biggest mistake Bryan ever made. Now life had thrown them back together and while her life may be in danger, both their hearts are on the line. Sylvia Day is brilliant when it comes to hot love affairs. Throw in the thrill of a chase, some corrupt cops, a drug cartel and a really hot good guy and there is no way you can go wrong ;)

Soul possession - 2* A waitress is propositioned by two hot cops to spend the night with them. After their hot night together, they are in love and want something more serious (all three of them?!), but a serial killer targets her before "their love has had time to blossom"... The attraction is mutual but they don't really have much time to explore their feelings since the mobster is after them, trying to get his ex-wife back.... Liked it for the steamy scenes, but plot-wise it was all just too convenient (view spoiler)[ how this big shot mafia boss wants his ex wife back so bad that he walks up to an armed special agent and gets shot right away. They have three days in which she is out of the witness protection and he needs to bring her safely across the country to the trial where she will be the key witness in putting away leaders of a Mexican drug cartel. Their nights are spent in "rekindling their romance" while during the day they are already pining after each other since they will get sepparated in 3 days, when she goes back to the witness protection and changes her identity forever, never to see him again...
