“Baker’s Dozen” by Amey Zeigler; I received a reviewer’s e-copy of this book. This book was full of suspense, romance, action, and intrigue. I was drawn into this light romance suspense by its characters and the constant moment of the story! The tension and passion between the main characters was tangible, without being lewd. There is never a dull moment with the lies, fights, and close calls. The first chapter or two was a little rough but it had enough to hook me and to keep me going. Baker’s Dozen by Amey Keigler Kick ass, high impact and more convoluted than a pile of spaghetti, this novel better have a follow-up. I found myself tugged in both directions, between both leads. The story flowed easily from point to point, the detailed backgrounds were enough to entice me to visit, in search of the places mentioned. The characters, they were the main emphasis of the novel, and wonderfully written they were. If you’re craving a romantic suspense novel, Amey Zeigler’s Baker’s Dozen will satisfy perfectly. Can he and Andy trust each other and join efforts to stop Tyrone’s evil forces? Baker’s Dozen is a cleverly crafted and wonderfully entertaining story. There is a nice proportion of suspenseful twists and mildly spicy chemistry that will keep the reader moving from chapter to chapter wanting to know how it will all turn out. I am confident I am not the only one seriously hoping Zeigler continues Andy Miller’s adventures with Hugh—or whatever name he’s going by. Ab-man works for me. Thank you, Amey Zeigler, for a great read!

Baker’s Dozen is a romantic suspense novel, set mainly in St Louis. Andy Miller is an investigative journalist, unearthing criminals and exposing them in the media. Her latest story uncovers a dodgy, small-time auto repair shop owner, but it just scratches the surface of a money laundering scam run by a bigger criminal. Then Andy crosses paths with Hugh, a familiar face, and they find they are both investigating Imperial Energy and Michael Tyrone. Hugh seems to be on Andy’s side, but he’s keeping Baker’s Dozen is a romantic suspense novel, set mainly in St Louis. Hugh seems to be on Andy’s side, but he’s keeping secrets and telling lies. Bodies begin to pile up as do the number of people wanting Andy and Hugh dead. They follow leads to leaked documents which take them on a dangerous trip to Mexico; who is trying to keep important material concealed and why? I really enjoyed this book. Andy was a great character, her karate skills and Mary Poppins-style survival bag saved them on many occasions. She was resourceful, disobedient and held her own in difficult situations. I loved the ending; the possibilities left me believing that this book could either be a stand-alone or it could be the start of a great series.

In my nearly forty years of living, I have only read two books where there was a bare-chested man on the cover...and this one was much different than the first one! This book is about a quirky, fun undercover journalist, solving small time crimes in St. Louis. She stumbles into something much bigger during one of her stories and that's how she meets the bare-chested man (though he's not always bare-chested in the story!). Andy and Hugh have palpable chemistry both as a team of investigators and personally. They get into and out of scrapes in a way that makes me think they'd make a good crime show television series. The writing made this a quick read and was detailed just right. Bonus: if you have ever lived in St. Louis or are any type of scientist, there are some extra cool scenes and lines for you in here! I can't wait to read the next book featuring these two!

Andy's world is turned upside down when she sets her sites on taking down a powerful organization who murdered her step-brother. Enter Hugh Donaldson. His winning charm and devilishly good looks are hard to resist, but can Andy trust him, or is he another person out to get her? I loved this book. High energy suspense. This book takes you to dark places trying to solve a murder and a mystery. Andy is a kick butt investigative journalist but as bad a$$ as she is there are always folks bigger and badder. Enter an enigma of a man who fits the bill. He drives Andy nuts. Sometimes in a good way. This is the first I’ve read from this author but it won’t be the last. I truly enjoyed this exciting ride.

I really enjoyed reading this book as it was not just a simple romance but it had more with the action and the intrigue with the twists and turns. I found when I read this book is had a really hard time putting it down so I ended up staying awake longer that I should have but it was so worth it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved that it had enough romance and action into one book! It is so hard to find a good mix of the two nowadays. Andy is such an awesome character! I loved how resourceful she is. I wasn't too fond of the pacing but I think for the story to work it had to be that way. Cover is so misleading! I really enjoyed this!

This was an interesting book. SO many lies and deceits. I loved her changes. I don't like that end didn't get resolved with them, but they sure did a number on some big wigs. A nice, clean, and yet yummy to the core book.

The intrigue and drama were compelling in this book. The romance was hot and the characters very interesting. This author provided a great deal of entertainment while reading this well written book. I can't remember when I've had an author write a book where I felt so much anxiety as I read because I felt like I was part of the story rather than just reading it.

Steamy thriller that is hard to put down. This book was action packed with twists and turns at every corner. The romance was a little more intense than I personally prefer, but certainly kept me interested. It was very well written. I felt like I was watching a thrilling movie. Two thumbs up!
