One of the girls has been rushed to hospital after a road accident and, in the space of one remarkable week, Mr M is confronted with a series of events that cause him to think again about some of the people and relationships that he has been taking for granted. Behind the usual lascivious action of the story, we gain the distinct impression that the author is calling time on the Club Corporal saga itself.
