| The original 1919 edition of the classic writing style guide. This brief text was written by Prof. William Strunk, Jr. for use in his English class at Cornell University. It is substantially different than the expanded and rewritten 1959 edition by E. B. White that most people are familiar with. Because it's copyright expired long ago, the 1919 original is now in the public domain.
