| EDITORIAL NOTE: This story merges the short stories Beatrice's Defilement and Beatrice's Downfall, with some additional new material. It can be read before or after the events recounted in Sadoville 1 & 2. Desperate for money to help support her family, Beatrice Gironde, a pretty but na?ve young woman from the provinces, sacrifices her pride and honour to get permission to travel to the capital city of Sadoville, which has its own strange and perverse rules and customs. Here they operate the notorious Defilement Lottery, where any woman between 18 and 40 may be subjected to lawful sexual torment by a complete stranger, male or female, if her number has been drawn and she can be tracked down inside one hour. In the city, only the most menial and dirty jobs are open to incomers, so to support herself Beatrice takes work in a Chastisement Shop, demonstrating sex toys naked in its front window. Although she is deeply ashamed by the work, her now unleashed natural passion which she cannot contain, causes her to climax easily and often. This means she sells many sex toys but still feels demeaned in the process. Her only solace comes in the arms of Gillian, her coworker and newfound lesbian lover. Driven by the need to earn more money, Beatrice finds more rewarding but equally degrading and humiliating work in a fraudulent scheme involving fake Defilement Lottery results, where people can pay to "win" the use of selected, and supposedly innocently deceived, women.
