| Lothrop Stoddard (1883 1950) was an American political theorist, historian, eugenicist and antiimmigration advocate. Stoddard was educated at Boston University and Harvard. He wrote several books on scientific racism. His most famous book was The Rising Tide of Color Against White WorldSupremacy in 1920. Stoddard believed race and heredity were the guiding factors of history and civilization, and that the elimination or absorption of the "white" race by "colored" races would result in the destruction of Western civilization. In 1922 Stoddard saw Islam as undergoing rapid transformations. The recent war sped up this transformation that had been taking place in the Near and Far East for over 100 years. |
