| This United States Air Force manual, Department of the Air Force Manual DAFMAN 31-131 Volume 3 Security: Small Arms and Light Weapons Handling Procedures April 2025, implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 31-1, Integrated Defense and Department of the Air Force (DAF) Instruction (DAFI) 31-131, Combat Arms Training and Maintenance (CATM) Program. This manual provides guidance on loading, clearing, issuing, and turning in of small arms and light weapons (SA/LW), to include non-lethal weapons, throughout the DAF. It applies to the entire DAF, including the Regular Air Force, the United States Space Force (USSF), the Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, all DAF civilian employees, and those with a contractual obligation to abide by the terms of DAF issuances, as well as personnel from other US military branches assigned or attached to DAF units or otherwise receiving or returning SA/LW from or to DAF armories or weapon storage facilities. |
